A CCTV footage was recorded at the 'Ye Olde Man and Scythe' pub at Churchgate in Bolton. 'Ye Olde Man and Scythe' is the fourth oldest pub in Britain which dates back to 1251. The CCTV footage shows a shadowy figure roaming around the bar at the 'Ye Olde Man and Scythe' pub in the wee hours. The footage was recorded on the night of February 14th 2014.

The management came to know about the paranormal activity captured on the camera when the CCTV camera stopped recording after 6:18 am in the morning. The spectre was caught just before the camera stopped working.
So, was the CCTV footage a real haunting or a publicity stunt? Perhaps it was some form of electrical glitch? However, the footage recorded on Valentine's Day shows a figure flicker in and out of view at around 6.18 a.m., after which the camera stopped filming. According to sources, Manager Tony Dooley said that a broken glass was also found on the floor.
It is said that the 'Ye Olde Man and Scythe' is already haunted by around 25 ghosts, which included James Stanley, the seventh Earl of Derby who was beheaded near the pub during the civil war in 1651.
There are also stories where people say that a woman committed suicide in the pub's cellar. The pub is also believed to be haunted by an eight-year-old girl and even a phantom dog. Check out the video and tell us what you think? Is the spooky figure really a visitor from the grave or is it just a publicity stunt?
