You can get away with doing almost anything you want in every class. All you have to do is look earnestly and sincerely into the teacher's eyes at a regular interval. It will seem like you are one of the most attentive students in class. This is also a good way to hone your acting skills.

Right Position

If you have no intention of being called on by the teachers, do not sit in front. Teachers always have unnaturally high expectations of front benchers. The back row might seem like a good option, but teachers usually pick on the back benchers. The best position to avoid detection is to sit towards the extreme right or left of the class.
