Office Rules That Every Woman Must Know
Women are seeking equal opportunities and earning in the world of employment these days. Women work and earn just as much as men do. But still, corporate concepts like the glass ceiling and stereotypes are stand against working women. As Women's Day is approaching, it is A good opportunity for women to become aware of the office rules that are meant to protect them.
These special office rules for women have been made by the government to protect the rights of women. 8th of March is celebrated as International Women's Day every year. So let us check out the basic office rules that protect working women.

Night Shifts
In many Indian states, women cannot be given night shifts continuously. Night shift here refers to 'graveyard shifts' or working shifts that begin after 7 pm in the evening. So women can cannot be given night shift for more than 50 percent of a month, that is 15 days.
Cab Security
Many offices have pick and drop facilities for their employees. But a record number of rapes happened when women were travelling by office cabs. That is why the government has made a rule that states if a woman is the last drop in a cab, a security personnel will accompany her.
After The Dark
In many Indian state,s the office rules for women regarding work hours are different. Women cannot be asked to stay in the office after 7.30 in some states in India due to security reasons. In other states, the deadline stretches to 8 or 9 pm.
Maternity Leaves
Every woman is entitled to 3 months of paid maternity leaves and 3 months of unpaid leaves. The duration of unpaid leaves varies in different organisations. Sometimes, instead of unpaid leaves, some women are given 'work from home options'.
Employment Percentage
Many organisations have HR policies that favour women. They have policies that dictate 50 percent or 30 percent of their total number of employees should be women. This office rule for women is to ensure equal opportunities for the other gender.
Equal Work Equal Pay
Women are entitled to equal pay for equal amount of work and the same designation as men. So, no company can tell you that they will pay you less because you are a woman.
Marital Status
Many companies tend to avoid recruiting married women because they believe that they are not serious about their career. Also, a married woman can ask for maternity leaves later. But this bias towards married women is illegal.
