Funniest Things I Have Done When Drunk

Ok, let's admit it that there are reasons why drinking is generally frowned upon in most societies, especially Indian. Besides the fact that it is not exactly healthy for our body, alcohol also makes us ignore the sane part of our brain. Of course, this is not always a bad thing (it's even good, sometimes!) but getting drunk is a surefire way of getting away with things that otherwise seem impossible.

Here are a few of the funniest things I did when I was drunk.. Although memories of some are rather vague. Would love to know about your crazy drunken adventures too!

Mystery of Pretty Woman
It was the morning after a late night party. With the throbbing of a hang-over,the faint strains of ‘Pretty Woman' seemed to be playing somewhere. It would start, play for a while, stop and then start again. Trying to solve the mystery and to prove I'm not going insane, I dragged myself out of bed and finally located the source of the music- my friend's mobile phone which I unwittingly ‘stole' from the party. My friend is very careful with it now whenever I am around.

Desi Dance
Dancing lets you forget all inhibitions and coupled with a little too much alcohol, it gets better. So there we were, a group of friends, at the local discotheque on a Ladies' Night. Music was good and influenced by drinks,we suddenly decided to prove our ‘desiness' and showed-off Kathak and Bharatnatyam moves as the evergreen dance-floor regular ‘Summer of 69' blared. I have not stepped into that place again!

The World's my Friend
This is another funniest thing that I have done when I was drunk. It was a New Year's Eve party and as the clock struck 12 and fireworks went off, the world suddenly seemed to be a much better place to be with wonderful people. So, drunken me decided that every one of the two hundred odd people present was my ‘Best Friend' and I went around hugging everyone with a heart-felt ‘Happy New Year, Best Friend!'. Some stranger ‘best friends' were not amused.

Too Blabbermouths
Friends trust me with secrets...but alcohol can get the better of anyone. So, as a party with close friends was coming to an end,not only did I and a friend enthusiastically reveal that he is a gay but we also bragged about how we are so good at keeping it a secret from everyone. Both of us went home, still proud of ourselves but of course, the morning came bringing sobriety and realisation.

Worshiping Beer-God
If you aren't a teetotaler, Goa means getting drunk. So like everyone, our group of friends went on a beer binge. As we exit a shop after buying more beer, we couldn't believe how cheap the rates were. So, to thank the Beer God, we opened a bottle and started washing our feet with it right on the street. This seemed to us a good alternative as we did not have a real Beer God idol and milk to wash his feet with!

A Mean Prank
A friend's mobile phone was not working. I was asked to send an sms and inform her roomie that she would not be coming home that night as she was too drunk. I was a little tipsy myself and the alcohol devil made me deliberately send the sms to her mother who stays in another city. My poor friend did not talk to me for a week after that but soon, she saw the funny side of it too!
