Bizarre Foods That Are Eaten In India
India is a land of surprises. The landscape, people, food, culture never fails to surprise us with its variety and uniqueness. Coming to the food, India has a variety of cuisines. Every part of the country has its own unique delicacies. We all know about the mouth watering delicacies of India. But how many of us know about the unusual and bizarre delicacies of India?

Yak Butter Tea
Yes, this tea is prepared with butter and not milk! It was originally introduced in India by the Tibetan refugees. This tea is made with yak butter and a pinch of salt.

Chicken Blood N Pig Intestines
It's crazy, but true. A dish called Jadoh is prepared and eaten by the Jaintia tribe of North East, using the blood of chicken and pig intestines. Strange, but it is a delicacy.

Dog Meat
You may love your dog but you definitely do not eat it up. But people from Nagaland, love dogs and eat them too. Most surprising part is that it is costlier than any other meat.

Baby Shark Curry
If you think only sharks scare humans, think again. Humans can scare sharks too and even eat them up. Baby shark curry is a delicacy in Goa. It is an expensive item on the menu but they say the taste of this curry gives you double the value of your money.

Red Ant Dip
It is really hot. The red ant chutney or dip is made from the sap and organs of the red ants. The ants are dried and then treated with sweeteners and spices. It is regularly consumed by the people of Chattisgarh.

Black Rice
This is a special delight from Manipur. It is also called the 'Magic Rice' due to its changing colours. It is black when harvested but changes to purple when cooked.

Pig's Brain
A delicacy of Meghalaya, Doh Khlieh is a pork dish which is garnished with steamed pig's brain. Would you dare to eat this?

Frog Legs
In Sikkim, frog legs are used to cure dysentery and all other stomach related diseases. And you thought it was just an irritating animal which gets into the bathroom in every monsoon!

Silkworm's Pupa
Eri polu, an Assamese dish made from the pupa of the silkworms. The dish looks colourful and is said to melt in the mouth.
