Can “Earth” Be Cared For Only A Month?
March 11th 2011, was marked “Black" all over the globe, as on that day Japan witnessed massive destruction due to floods, earthquake followed by nuclear meltdown. With all this devastating news, people are still surviving with the hope that the mother “Earth" will safeguard her children in her protective womb, but the question, is until when?
April is known as the Earth month and until the last day of the month various activities are conducted across the globe on how to make the planet, a better and a safe place to live. Many campaigns and debates are conducted on keeping the atmosphere clean by cutting down on the usage of plastics, keeping a check on green house effect, preventing pollution etc but is it enough if the plans are executed for just weeks?.
Every April 22nd is marked as the Earth hour and on this day many countries try to save non renewable sources of energy like electricity etc by switching off the equipments. The very idea of celebrating the Earth hour is to educate and promote people to use solar and wind energies which can be best alternatives and nature friendly which many have no idea!
Although the Mayan calendar declares that 2012 is the end of the world, the people need to understand that the phenomenon is indirectly hinting us to conserve our natural resources and save our environment which unfortunately isn't being understood by any human being on Earth.
It is not the natural calamities that is causing destruction, it is we who aren't realizing the importance of our mother nature. We are supporting destruction by killing animal and sea life, manufacturing destructive weapons, destroying plant life, polluting water and air leading to a complete imbalance in the nature.
Save Earth, Save Our Planet.
