The Message Given By The Unknown M.G

I just told her "I sometimes feel that this area should change its name. The road in total contrast to a man to whom it owes its name. He walked so fast in his life."
She just replied "What are you talking about? To whom this road owes its name? Who walked so fast?". I was shocked "Don't you know the full form of M.G? Don't tell me that!"
She just laughed out when I told her that M.G is the full form of Mahatma Gandhi a.k.a Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi.
This incident made me sit and think for a while. There are many universities, roads, statues dedicated to the father of our nation. However M.G becomes a routine name in many lips and many people don't even understand the origin of the name lest think of the great man behind all these developments.
Think again on what is happening at these institutions named after Mahatma Gandhi. Can anyone point out at least one institution freed of corruption? The roads named after Mahatma Gandhi mock at us at several instances. The true parody is then, when the state's representatives (politicians) pass through these roads. The roads won't be accessible for common people during this time.
The great man to whom we owe our freedom is away from our hearts in this situation. At this time let me quote a sentence from the Bollywood film Lage Raho Munnabhai. "Take out all of Mahtma's photos, statues and road names out of the country. You don't have to remember Mahatma during any function. But, give a word that you will keep Mahatma in your hearts."
October 2nd is Mahatma's birthday. Let us at least remember the great man at least on this occasion!
