The Emerging City Of Chandigarh

Derisively dubbed by some people as a city of the tired and the retired, Chandigarh city is now making the disco culture a part of its everyday life. To make the evenings lively, discotheques are happening places and gaining popularity in the city with their innovative themes and concepts for visitors' entertainment.
Today, discotheques in the city bream with , with L.C.D. screen blaring in rooms, loud music and some powerful DJ mix, is what one can find in the city.
A growing number of people in the city are flocking to such discos to have fun and de-stress. To be spendthrift for a late evening or two not being a major issue for most of the visitors in these discos, the party mood lasts long and merry-making goes on till early hours of the morning. "80-90 percent of people are educated here in Chandigarh. They want to enjoy and want to go out with their families," justifies one of the pub owners in th city.
Also, with the growing popularity of discotheques, the disco owners are evolving newer concepts by changing the ambiance of their venues. Theme-based parties are quite popular. The drinks, lights and music - everything is customized keeping the demands of the client in mind.
The corporates, including the leading IT firms in Chandigarh and Mohali, arrange such theme parties to help their staff de-stress. Besides, discotheque owners also arrange special parties for foreign visitors. "People get bored of their daily work routines and so to enjoy their life, they go to discos at night," said Dimple, a disco-goer. My work timings are 9 to 5 and from 7 to 2 'o' clock, I stay here and enjoy myself."
Nightlife in Chandigarh has come a long way from the time people when they used to just rush back to home and sleep early at night. Nowadays people party way past midnight.
Nightlife in Chandigarh is fast catching up on other metros and is even attracting people from surrounding areas to the city. It is not just Mission Arabia. One can also head for Blues or the Rendezvous Bar for some serious partying.
