Review: Nyayashastrapraveshika
The nyayasastra praveshika is intended to give preliminary assistance to enter into the study of nyayadarsana. The study of Sanskrit and especially the study of darsanas in Sanskrit are limited to a little circle. Some institutions give some importance to the study of certain darsanas like Vedanta whereas some like Nyayadarsana are completely neglected. One of the main reasons for this is the difficulty to understand the different terminologies used in this darsana by the authors. So the real understanding of the terminologies used is the key for better understanding of the texts of nyayadarsana.
Dr T Arya Devi has written this text in Malayalam language in the intention that keralaites who wish to know about nyayadarsana can get good assistance from this text.
This book is divided into two parts. The first part deals with different terminologies used like anubandhacatustaya, sangati, laksana, karya, karana, sambandha etc. The second part deals with ayatharthajnana and the four kinds of pramanas namely pratyaksha, anumana, upamana and sabda.
Surely this text creates an awareness of nyayadarsana and also gives sufficient help to those who are interested in the study of nyayadarsana.
