Dilemmas Of A Crippled Man

A crippled one is a person who is partially or totally unable to use one or more limbs. The most painful aspect about crippled men is that they have to live in a society which is designed for people who are not crippled. A healthy body is the scale to measure a person in the present society. For a perfect career, in the marriage market, in sports field, everywhere and anywhere crippled men may be pushed back.
It is not the physical troubles but the mental trauma that remain bulged when pondering over the dilemmas of a crippled man. The most important is the inferior complex and body image worries. Complexes of any kind is detrimental to the healthy personality development. There are multiplied possibilities for a crippled man to be fallen under the clutches of complexes, of course inferior complexes.
Next to the dangerous complexes there comes the body image worries. Perfect body not only helps a person to appear healthy in the society but also crates a wave of confidence in him. Today's the material-oriented society defines human status and capabilities only based on the external appearance and the attire, thus a crippled man has no way than withdrawing himself into the self created shell of complexes, worries and depression.
The society has grown a lot from the times when disabilities were considered as the result of sin. But the sympathy and pity in the eyes of the fellow beings may make him more painful than his disability. Other than seeking ways to help the disabled people, the society has learned to create reservations for them to stay away from the responsibilities towards disabled people.
Most important for the society is to be convinced that no one is born crippled because of his sin and it is the ill-fate that made somebody crippled and a healthy you. Crippled body is not what they deserve and healthy body is not your right. If you are born healthy, by default you are obliged to help the disabled, other than making their lives miserable by your words and deeds.
