Amitabh Sengupta's Painting Exhibition
Time and Space Art Gallery is presenting Amitabh Sengupta's recent paintings titled 'Inscriptions' at an exhibition from November 8th – November 17th between 11am and 7 pm
Th exhibition comprises 14 paintings from the artists ongoing series . The main concern of the artist in the series is to explore pictorial as well as intellectual space through script as a form, as well as a metaphorical content. Amitabh Sengupta's works mostly carry the mark of Time - the remains of rock-cut shrines or shelters, the Haveli door, etc. He has also published writings on contemporary art. A recent research on folk art is being published from Delhi in book form: 'Patachitra: Art in the Village'.
In the paintings one can see medieval scripts of Ashokan Brahmi, Egyptian Hieroglyphs, Tankri, Chineese and Persian, with great exactitude. The exhibition is located at No 55, Lavelle Road, Bangalore.
