If your watchlist has been looking a little stale lately, this week might be the perfect time to refresh it. Streaming platforms are rolling out a varied mix of releases between June 8 and June 14, 2026, from Akshay Kumar's much-awaited 'Bhooth Bangla', Malayalam investigation thriller 'Dridam' to football documentaries, reality competitions, animated adventures and romantic dramas. Whether you're planning a weekend binge or simply looking for something new after work, here's everything worth checking out this week.
Netflix Serves Up Horror, Football, Animation And A Returning Favourite
Netflix is covering plenty of ground this week, with everything from sports content and documentaries to supernatural comedy and drama.
Football fans can start with 'Norway: The Dark Horse' (June 9), a documentary following Norway's efforts to make its way back to the FIFA World Cup.
The football theme continues with 'The Rest Is Football' (June 10), which brings together familiar pundits to discuss the sport's biggest talking points.
Those who enjoy reality television can tune into 'Outlast: The Jungle' (June 10), a survival competition set in Panama where contestants are pushed to their limits.
On June 11, 'Sweet Magnolias' returns for its fifth season with ten new episodes, while 'Viral Hit' arrives as a live-action adaptation of the popular webtoon.
The biggest Netflix release of the week, however, is 'Bhooth Bangla ' (June 12). The horror-comedy stars Akshay Kumar, Tabu and Wamiqa Gabbi and marks another collaboration between Akshay Kumar and director Priyadarshan.
Also arriving on June 12 are 'I Am Frankelda', an animated fantasy feature, and Maternal Instinct, a true-crime documentary exploring a real-life case.
Prime Video Brings A Mix Of Romance, Crime And Big-Screen Spectacle
Prime Video's lineup this week ranges from real-life stories to large-scale action entertainment.
Leading the slate is 'Michael' (June 9), a biographical drama based on the life of Michael Jackson, with Jaafar Jackson stepping into the role of the music icon.
Romance fans can look forward to 'Every Year After' (June 10), adapted from a bestselling novel and centred on love, memories and second chances.
On June 12, Prime Video adds two major titles. 'Raakh', starring Ali Fazal and Sonali Bendre, takes viewers back to 1970s Delhi for a crime thriller steeped in mystery and intrigue. Joining it is 'Karuppu', the fantasy action blockbuster starring Suriya and Trisha Krishnan. After a successful theatrical run, the film is finally making its OTT debut.
JioHotstar Offers A Fresh Dose Of Malayalam Crime Drama
Malayalam thrillers continue to find a strong audience, and 'Dridam' (June 12) looks set to join that list. Starring Shane Nigam, the crime thriller promises suspense, investigation and unexpected twists.
Lionsgate Play Targets Action-Thriller Fans
If suspense and high-stakes storytelling are more your style, 'Shelter' (June 12) may be worth a watch. Starring Bill Nighy and Naomi Ackie, the action thriller combines danger, secrets and tense confrontations.
Ready For Your Next Binge-Watch?
This week's OTT lineup doesn't lean heavily on one genre or audience. Instead, it offers a little bit of everything. You can spend the weekend laughing through 'Bhooth Bangla', solving mysteries with 'Raakh' and 'Dridam', following football stories on Netflix, or settling in with a romantic drama. Whatever your viewing preference, there's a good chance you'll find something new to add to your queue this week.
