Mistakes To Be Avoided During Navratri
In other words, these are the dos and don'ts of Navratri
Navratri is one of the biggest festivals for Hindus around the world. This is the time it is believed that Goddess Durga enters their homes in different avatars.
Goddess Durga is also known as Maa Kali and she represents women empowerment, power and truth.
During this time, there are certain dos and don'ts that need to be followed during the 9 days of the festival.
Take a look to know about what to and what not to follow during the 9 days of the festival.

Avoid Haircut!
It is believed that getting a haircut during this season is considered to be bad, as it is considered a bad omen, so getting one's hair cut or doing a shave during Navratri is a not a good option.

Kalash
During this season, people go to any extent to keep their Goddess happy. One of the rituals is to keep a Kalash at home. Apart from this, one needs to light an akhand jyot that burns all day/night. Ensure it does not turn off. Another thing that you need to do is to ensure that your house is not kept empty during this period. A person should be in the house all the time.

No Non-veg Food!
Most of us are aware of not eating non-veg food during these 9 days. Apart from this, people should not eat garlic, ginger and even onions during this period. Slicing a lemon is also considered to be an inauspicious thing to do! So, watch out before making your lemonade!

Avoid Sleeping At Noon...
One should avoid sleeping in the afternoon during this season. It is believed that if you sleep during the daytime during Navratri, then all the "good karma" attained from the fasting that you do would go null and void.
