Glass Bottle House Which Gives You Warmth
The glass bottle house was constructed by John J. Makinen which is also known as the The Kaleva Bottle House or the Kaleva Bottle House Museum.
Constructed in the year 1941, by John J. Makinen, this bottle house looks beautiful when the sunlight shines directly on it making it shine like diamonds.
The
glass
bottle
house
is
located
in
Michigan
near
Manistee
and
it
consists
of
60,000
glass
bottles
which
is
laid
on
the
side,
bottoms
up
towards
the
exterior.
John
J.
Makinen,
made
this
glass
bottle
house
from
all
the
bottles
that
came
from
his
bottling
plant.
The
bottles
he
has
used
to
make
this
beautiful
creation
is
unique
as
it
has
a
wide
variety
of
bottle
ranges
like
that
of
wine,
beer,
beverages
and
alcohol.
It
was
of
different
shapes
and
sizes
resulting
from
round
shaped
bottles
to
oblong.
The whole of the glass bottle house was made using the clear transparent bottles while the sign which read 'Happy Home' was brown in color.
The
sad
history
of
this
house
was
that,
John
J.
Makinen,
the
designer
and
owner
did
not
get
a
chance
to
stay
in
it
as
he
passed
away
before
he
and
his
family
could
move
in.
This
glass
bottle
house
was
bought
by
the
Kaleva
Historical
Society
in
the
year
1980
and
later
purchased
by
a
museum
in
1981.
