It's their hard work, dedication and patience that have fetched them huge price tags for their art work.
- Syed Haider Raza, popularly known as, S.H. Raza, the eminent Indian painter, who has his work mostly in oil or acrylic has bagged the highest price, Rs 16,51,34,000 for his painting, titled 'Saurashtra' in the year 2010. Although he is an Indian artist, he lived and worked in France. This painting was done using Acrylic on Canvas.
- Tyeb Mehta, the famous Indian artist, who lived and worked in London between 1959 and 1964, had his painting titled, 'Falling Bird ' bagging a price of Rs 7,23,98,000 in 2010. This beautiful art is done using Acrylic on Canvas.
- Bharti Kher, the famous contemporary artist. Well known for her fabulous creative talents in painting, sculpture, installation etc. She had her sculpture titled, 'The Skin Speaks A Language Not Its Own' bagging a sum of Rs 6,90,30,000 in 2010.
- Francis Newton Souza, the founding member of Progressive Artists' Group in Mumbai. This eminent artists was born in Goa but during 1948 he left to London. In 2010 his work named 'Red Curse' held a price of Rs 6,08,00,000. He used Oil on Black Stain for this creation.
- The veteran artist, Maqbool Fida Husain, well known as M.F. Husain, was recogonized by bagging an award at the annual exhibition of the Bombay Art Society. His painting named ' Battle of Ganga and Jamuna : Mahabharata ' bagged a sum of Rs 6,50,00,000 in the year 2008.
