World's Tallest Tower To Come Up In Dubai

Despite global financial meltdown and regional credit worries, Dubai has launched the construction of one kilometre tall tower, said to be the world's tallest.
The promoters Nakheel appointed consultants from UK-based SP for the tower which will be part of the multi-billion dollar Harbour and Tower development.
WSP revealed it was also playing a major role in Meraas Development's 95 billion dollar Jumeira Gardens scheme, Dubai's first master planned urban regeneration development, also launched last week.
Work on-site is already underway for a third high-profile Dubai project, the Dubai World Trade Center District, for which WSP is acting as design consultant.
Economic analysists have indicated that Dubai's big projects are already facing financing problems from banks hit by the global meltdown.
