Golden Globe Awards 2012 Doubtful ?
The lawyers are afraid that with the current situation there may not be enough time to find a new producer, network and advertisers for the 2012 Golden globe awards show. Earlier on November 17th, the HFPA had sued the Dick Clark production company, accusing it of absconding with rights and for its unilateral eight-year broadcast agreement with NBC, the network that currently broadcasts the awards. However, this month, Dick Clark Productions has responded by asking Judge Valerie Baker Fairbank, of the United States District Court, to dismiss the complaint.
Meanwhile, with the proposed schedules, the lawyers for Dick Clark Productions expect the trial to come in December and the Press Association lawyers expect March 5, 2012 as the trial date but neither of these dates, according to lawyers, would be enough to produce and distribute the television broadcast of the 2012 annual Golden Globe Awards Show.
