Zac Efron Plans For A “New Year's Eve”

Zac Efron is in news again, the Hollywood star is the latest to join the ensemble cast of Gary Marshall"s “New Year"s Eve". The movie is about the intertwining stories of a group of New Yorkers who romance over the course of cold New Year"s eve. Zac Efron is playing a bike messenger who ends up trying to fulfill Pfeiffer"s New Year"s Eve resolutions in exchange for tickets to a big party. The new movie was to start its shoot in New York in mid-December but is postponed to February first week. Second unit will be shot in Times Square over New Year"s. Mike Karz and Wayne Rice are producing the romantic comedy.

According to reports, Sarah Jessica Parker and Halle Berry are also expected to join "New Fear's Eve" with Zac Efron. Previously announced cast members include Ashton Kutcher, Michelle Pfeiffer, Jessica Biel, Lea Michele, Sofia Vergara, Robert De Niro, Abigail Breslin and Hilary Swank. Although the two “Valentine"s Day" actors Kutcher and Biel are part of “NYE", the film, according to director, has no relation to his holiday-themed romantic comedy.

Meanwhile, Zac Efron is said to be working hard to get over with his matinee idol reputation by taking on more matured roles. Zac Efron is currently busy filming “The Lucky One", adapted from the Nicholas Sparks novel. He is also attached to “Die in a Gunfight", “Akira" and a remake of Swedish hit “Snabba Cash". “New Year"s Eve" will have an NYE friendly release date of December 9, 2011.
