A Replica Of Taj Mahal In Wood!

Arun Kumar Meher, an artist from Bargarh district created the five feet high and ten feet wide wooden replica of Taj Mahal. He used different shades of Sal wood to create the replica within three months.
The construction of the original Taj Mahal took 22 years (1631-1653). 20,000 people worked with the materials brought from all over India and Central Asia. At that time, 1000 elephants were used to transport the material to the main site.
The Taj Mahal built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan (1625-1666), the grandson of Akbar, in the memory of his beloved queen Mumtaz Mahal, is one of the most popular tourist destinations in India. It attracts around 20,000 visitors daily.
Meher feels that everyone can"t go to Agra to see the actual Taj Mahal. So, for those who have not witnessed the monument, his work will give an idea of how it actually looks like.
