India Celebrates 60th Republic Day

26th January might be welcomed as yet another public holiday for the rest of us to relax or sleep late, but a peek into the history tells the importance of this day in India.
This day is a moment of pride for every Indian, as it was today that the constitution of India was adopted and the country transformed from a British Dominion to an Independent state. The 60th republic day celebration is going to see the entire fervor of colors that will paint the nation in to unity.
The day is marked with the constitution pledged to justice, liberty, equality and dignity for everyone. The country takes pride in the values of unity in spite of diverse languages, religious and cultural variations and different religions complimenting each other.
The establishment of constitution in 1950 was a historic moment, that showed the results of the perseverance, bravery and struggle of the people of the time. Since then, the day is celebrated in India where the President is the guest of Parade.
Today the capital city of Delhi grows in to the pulse of the nation with, the parade held at the Rajpath that will showcase the country's military and bravery prowess. This day also awards the mrtyers of the nation, bravery and important achievements of military persons, citizens and children.
Wreth is placed at the India gate by the Prime minister, to remember the armed forces who gave up their lives in the protection of the country, this is followed by 21 gun salutes, the national flag is unfurled and the National Anthem is honored. President of India who is also the 'Commander-in-chief' of the Indian Armed forces takes the solute. The parade showcases the colorful cultures of India and performances by the school children.
The day is concluded by the dare devil motor cycle riding and a flypast by Indian Air Force fighter jets over Rajpath, a sight not to be missed as it swells every chest with pride for the nation.
In a day and age when our nation braves the various storms to break its harmony and unity, it becomes the duty of us as the citizens of India to realize the importance of the day and work as individuals to make a mark in various fields. India is the 'coolest' factor today, it has grown from just a country to the synonym for 'color', 'inspiration' and one can say a 'trend'. Proud to be an Indian. AGENCIES
