Zuma's mom Gwen Stefani celebrated her 40th birthday party on October 3rd 2009 without much ado. Only family and friends attended the party at a chic Italian restaurant Cecconi's in West Hollywood. The singer's hubby Gavin Rossdale, their kids - the 3-year-old Kingston and the 13-months-old Zuma – and close pals, including Kate Beckinsale and her husband Len Wiseman were present at the afternoon bash.

The Butterfly Room in the restaurant was specially decorated for Gwen's celebration with happy birthday balloons and roses. The group feasted on a grand lunch with various Italian appetizers, pasta dishes, salad, champagne and wine.

Gwen looked amazing and so much younger than 40. She was in a great mood and seemed very excited to celebrate her birthday with her husband, children and friends. Gwen and Kate seem very close and the girls shared a long chat and many laughs. Gavin and a nanny took care of the boys so Gwen could just relax and enjoy her celebration.

Gwen Stefani's eldest son helped her to blow the birthday cake. At the Oceana Hotel in Santa Monica disclosed that Stefani's birthday celebrations had actually started the night before. When the clock struck midnight, Gwen and Gavin toasted to Gwen's big birthday.
