Melbourne, : Australian cricket captain Ricky Ponting has resolved a damages' claim over a fake website.
Ponting's lawyers told Justice Steven Rares today, who is looking after the procedings, that the matter had been resolved outside the court.
The 31-year-old Ponting had filed a suit in the Federal Court in December under the Trade Practices Act over a site, since shut down, purporting to be his official site.
He sued Kevin Leonard Consulting Pty Ltd, the Victorian company which owned the domain name www.rickyponting.com.au, claiming the site amounted to deceptive and misleading conduct.
''I grant leave to the applicant to file in court a notice of discontinuance,'' Justice Rares was quoted as saying by 'The Herald Sun'.
