Jaya dances to the tune of Badugas

Former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and AIADMK general secretary J Jayalalithaa, who is on a sojourn in the hill station of Kodanadu, today danced with the Baduga tribals, after offering worship at a temple.

Following an invitation from the president and people of Kandatti village in Nilgiris district, Ms Jayalalithaa participated in the special worship organised at Sri Halamalai Ranganathan temple this afternoon, a party release here said.

After offering prayers and accepting the temple 'Prasadam', she danced with the tribal women, before taking leave, it said.

When Ms Jayalalithaa reached the temple, the local Baduga tribals offered her their traditional dress. After enjoying the dance of Baduga women in their traditional dress for sometime, Ms Jayalalithaa too joined the dance, the release said.

Later, hundreds of Baduga tribals stood on both sides of the road and gave the AIADMK leader an affectionate send off, it said.
