Most football players aren't highly regarded for their intelligence, especially with their quotes. Aubrey Malone collected the quotes and produced them in a book called Football Wit.

The following are some of the quotes taken from Football Wit: Quips and Quotes for the Football Fanatic, published by Summersdale at 9.99 pounds.

"I never comment on referees and I'm not going to break the habit of a lifetime for that prat," the Daily Star quoted Ron Atkinson, from the book, as having said.
