PETA dumps Heather Mills

Heather Mills was distressed when animal rights group PETA deserted her without telling.

PETA dumped the former model earlier this month when Mary McCartney, the photographer daughter of Heather's separated husband Sir Paul, threatened to stop working with them.

Heather only found out about their decision when a friend told her. She was just shocked. They didn't send her a letter or call her up.

Mary told the organisation she would continue working on their 'I would rather go naked that wear fur campaign' only if they severed their ties with her estranged step-mother.

Before Heather's split from Paul last year, she regularly worked for PETA, protesting against Canadian seal culling and the fur trade. Heather, 39, even stripped off for PETA's 2007 calendar, but the photographs were dropped after her bitter divorce battle began.
