Aussie books for book lovers
Kolkata, 01 Feb (UNI) The book lovers in the city can now get a flavour of Australian literature as renowned authors of the country will display their works here from tomorrow.
The Australian High Commission, that had organised a 10 day display of books called 'Australian Books and Writers', would feature the rich Australian literary traditions.
The program was earlier scheduled to be launched at the Kolkata .
The AHC commissioner Mr McCarthy said this programme would provide a great oppurtuinity for the authors to experience the literary traditions of India, especially Bengal, which would strenghten the literary connections between the two nations.
Eminent authors like Tom Keneally, a Booker-prize winner for novel Schindler's Ark, were going to participate in this exhibition.
The display would be organised under the auspices of ''AusArts India: Films, arts, literature,'' a two-year cultural promotion program presented by the Australian government.
