3rd Apsara Awards
FPGI Celebrates 50 years of its existence and honors excellence in Cinema and Television. FPGI's Apsara Award celebrates the third year of excellence achieved in Cinema and Television regionally and internationally. It is a transparent, credible and unbiased Award and a representation of the entire Entertainment industry. This award integrates all forms of entertainment, selected through a ballot poll from its guild members
Judging Procedure for Apsara Awards 2007 is for the Films/TV programs released during Jan 2006 - Dec 2006.VCD's of all entered films and TV programs are dispatched to the respective jury sets. The 3 sets of nominations juries deliberate to shortlist the Top 5 across all categories. The nominations are duly sent to Price Waterhouse Coopers to make the final ballots. The 5 Special Jury Awards do not fall under the purview of this balloting. They are done a week prior to the event.
Motion pictures must be feature-length (over 60 minutes in running time), and must be first publicly exhibited (previews excluded) by means of 35mm, 70mm film, or digitally before a paying audience in a commercial motion picture house in India for at least a seven-day consecutive run commencing between 1st January, 2006 & 31st December, 2006.Films released by 31st December 2006 to be entered by December 15th 2006 but will be considered only if they satisfy the criteria specified above.
Television and cable programs must be broadcast or cablecast in India, between 1st January 2006 & 31st December 2006. A VCD/DVD, Censor Certificate, Proof of Release and Credit List must accompany any film entry submissions. A VCD/DVD and a Synopsis must accompany any television entry submissions
