Prince Andrew visits Chennai
Chennai, Nov 1 (UNI) Duke of York Prince Andrew will pay his maiden visit to Chennai tomorrow two in his capacity as the UK's Special Representative for International Trade and Investment.
During his sojourn, the Prince is scheduled to inaugurate seminars on 'Advanced Vehicle Engineering and Emissions' and 'Structural Eurocodes in Concrete Structures.' He will also inaugurate a new building of the British Deputy High Commission (BDHC) in the city.
The Prince supports UK companies trading internationally and encourages foreign investment, according to a BDHC release.
On his visit, Prince Andrew said he was looking forward to it and to learning more about new and existing business opportunities in the region, the release added.
UK Trade and Investment Chief Executive Andrew Cahn said 'since taking on his role as the UK's Special Representative for International Trade and Investment, His Royal Highness The Duke of York, has brought valuable support and visibility at home and abroad to the UK's activities in promoting international trade and encouraging inward investment.' 'The response from the British business community has been very positive. Business leaders who have met The Duke have been impressed by his enthusiasm for the role. He is a real asset in promoting the UK as a place with which to do business,' he added.
