CII's ''cii,jewellery2006''
Surat, Dec 21 (UNI) A two-day conference 'cii, jewellery 2006' aimed to find ways to use the unlimited powers of Information Technology (IT) to upgrade various aspects of the diamond industry will be organised by the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) tomorrow, in the diamond city.
Chairman of the South Gujarat Zonal Council of CII, Mr Girish Luthra said the conference will be organised at Hotel Gateway and will be attended by experts from the field of IT and the diamond industry.
''The meet will explore how IT can upgrade the traditional methods of stock keeping, accountancy and security systems in the business and equip it to face competition from global players,'' he said.
Major IT players like Microsoft, Honeywell, IBM, Cisco, TCS, and Mindtree Solutions are slated to take part in the two-day conference, he disclosed.
CII's ambition is to upgrade Surat's diamond and jewellery industry and bring it at par with international levels of excellence by making it ''knowledge-driven,'' he added.
