Although the status on RGV's version of Sholay is still unknown, he has gone ahead and announced yet another project, Nishabd. This project is the Bollywood version of Vladimir Nakobov's timeless novel Lolita. And none other than amitabh bachchan has been roped in for the lead role. The film revolves around a 54-year old married man, played by Bachchan who falls in love with a girl, 36 years younger than him. Newcomer, Jia will play Bachchan's love interest. They believe that a new face will make the character more believable.
Talking about the film, Varma stated that age has nothing to do with love. Attraction between two people can exist, irrespective of age. Varma has been toying with this idea since a while, now. Bachchan was quite excited to be a part of the project. While Nakobov's novel is about a 44-year old man fantasizing about a 14-year old, Varma's Nishabd is a passionate love story.
The film is expected to go on floors on May 1. The crew plan to complete the shooting in a single schedule.
