World famous 'Bharat Milap' held under tight security
Varanasi, Oct 3 (UNI) Child artists playing the four mythological characters -- Lord Ram, Lakshman, Bharat and Shatrughan -- this evening underwent the cherished reunion at the world famous 'Bharat Milap' of Nati Imli under heightened security.
The Over four-century-old world famous Bharat Milap of Nati Imli organised by the Chitrakoot Ramlila Samiti, saw the four mythological characters engage in the prized reunion before the setting sun amid the shouts of 'Har Har Mahadev' -- the hallmark of this ancient city.
The crowd response at the venue, however, was far from enthusiastic, especially in the light of heightened security to deal with any terrorist activity.
However, Maharaja Anant Narayan Singh, the erstwhile King, in pursuance of royal duty, embarked a decorated elephant to the venue for the religious spectacle believed to have been started by Medha Bhagat -- a close associate of the author of Ramcharitmanas, Goswami Tulsidas.
Security was beefed up around the venue through flexible barricading and roof-top security personnel equipped with sophisticated weaponary.
