Aishwarya visits dargah in burqa

Ajmer, Dec 28 (UNI) Paying her obeisance at Sufi saint Khwaja Moinuddin Hasan Chisti's dargah here Bollywood star Aishwarya Rai today denied that her visit here was linked to her her impending marriage to Abhishek Bachchan.

Aishwarya, who has been shooting in Jaipur and several places in Rajasthan for Ashutosh Gowarikar's period classic Akbar-Jodha, reached here secretly around 0900 hrs this morning.

She donned a burqa in the car and managed to make her way to the main mazaar site amidst the crowd. The dargah is currently overcrowded due to the ongoing special ritual (Khwaja's Mahana Chhati) at the dargah.

The star had to literally jostle her way into the main mazaar.

Accompanied by her mother and friends, she laid a satin chaadar over the mazaar and performed her ziyarat with the help of Khadim Kutubuddin.

After her ziyarat, Aishwarya left for Puskhar and offered prayers at the Brahma temple there. As the news of her visit spread, a sizeable crowd gathered outside the temple to get a glimpse of the star.

A number of mediapersons gathered outside the temple but Aishwarya warded off queries about her impending marriage with Abhishek Bachchan.

Ash said she takes a round of most sacred sites including famous temples, dargahs, churches of any place she visits either for work or pleasure. Warding off personal questions, Ash said it would be wrong to link her visit here with her marriage rumours.

Aishwarya's brother visited the dargah last month and asked for the sacred thread for her. However, khadim Kutubuddin who conducted the ziyarat for him had then asked him to tell the actress to visit the dargah herself and get the sacred thread.

Khadim Kutubuddin said Aishwarya did not ask for any special blessings during ziyarat except the wellbeing of her family and a successful career.
