Dog behavior patterns are not just about checking aggressiveness or toilet training. There some finer aspects of your pet's behavior that go a long way in helping you understand their true nature. For instance, with which member of the family does your dog's loyalty lie? We know a great deal about the loyalty of 'man's best friend' to their masters. There have even been instances where dogs grieve for their dead master! But particulars breeds of dogs are loyal to particular members of the family. This aspect of dog behavior does not necessarily depend on training. Dogs like humans have a basic nature by virtue of which they attach themselves to a particular sex, age group or kind of people.

Which Breed of Dog is Loyal To Whom?

1. The Family Dog: If you are looking for a dog that will become a part of your family; live, eat, sleep with you and grieve for your death then you need a family dog. Labradors, Boxers, Golden Retrievers or Dalmatians should be your ideal choices. These dogs behavior displays equal affection for each member of the family. They will play with your children, fetch things for the mistress, greet the master when he comes home and expect nothing but your love in return. Theses will also be quick to accept a new member of a family like a baby or a cousin who moved in.

2. Personal Dogs: If you are single or live alone or live with a family that does not particularly care for dogs then you need a dog who will specifically be yours. Pugs, Dachshunds, Chihuahuas or French Bull dogs should suit your situation. In the behavior of these dogs you will see undivided loyalty to there only master. 3. Guard Dogs: If obedience and security is what you want from your bog then you must go for this variety. They will not play with you, not expect you to cuddle them but serve you devotedly for the food you feed them. Mastiffs, Rottweilers, German Shepherd and Dobermans will guard you and your property with their life but they don't really belong to anyone. Mastiffs for example display male chauvinistic dog behavior; they obey only the man of the house. Rottweilers have been know to bite children or even eat small babies! Without proper training these attack dogs are potentially dangerous due to their size and aggressive nature.
