Period stains on clothes can be stubborn, and no matter what you try, you simply cannot remove them. It's essential to act quickly so that it doesn't ruin your laundry. A lot of people go for hot water, but it doesn't make it go, but let it set in.
Here are some effective methods that will actually help you to remove period stains from your clothes.

1. Cold Water Rinse
Rinse the stain area with cold, running water as soon as you notice it. You can hold the fabric, allowing the water to flow through the stain from the backside, pushing the blood out of the fabric.
2. Salt and Cold Water
Make a paste by mixing salt and cold water and apply the same to the stain. Then gently rub the fabric together which will ensure that it effectively works on the stain. Let this paste sit on the stain for 15-30 minutes and then you can rinse the fabric with cold water.
3. Lemon Juice and Salt
Mix lemon juice and salt to create a paste. Apply the paste to the stain and let it sit for about 15-30 minutes. You can then rinse the fabric with cold water and check the stain. If it is extremely stubborn, then repeat the process.
4. Baking Soda and Water
Create a paste by mixing baking soda and cold water. Apply the paste to the stain and gently rub it in. Then allow it to sit for 15-30 minutes, then rinse with cold water to remove the stain.
Other Options That You Can Try
1. Hydrogen Peroxide
You can apply a small amount of hydrogen peroxide (3%) directly on the stain. Gently blot or dab the stain with a clean cloth or paper towel and it will work like magic. Do not rub it vigorously, as it may damage the fabric. Further, you can rinse the area with cold water.
2. Commercial Stain Removers
You can also use commercial stain removers designed for blood stains. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for the best results.
2. Enzyme-based Cleaners
Enzyme-based cleaners are designed for removing biological stains, and therefore, they can be effective against period stains. Before, applying these to your laundry, follow the product instructions carefully.
However, before, applying any of these methods, read the label on your clothing carefully. While some don't need too much care, others require delicate and special care. Therefore, you need to read the instructions and apply these methods accordingly depending on the type of fabric you are dealing with.
