Let's face it. Buying essential furniture pieces like sofa set, bed, dining set, etc require you to spend quite a lot. So after a few years, replacing the same with new ones may seem like a costly affair. Also, most of the furniture pieces simply require some easy facelift facets to give them a brand-new appeal!
If you have some old furniture pieces that you don't wish to resell or are simply lying idle in the attic or corners, then simply use these following hacks to save them from catching dust and make them useful!

Paint and Varnish
Painting and varnishing make a cost-effective solution to infuse a new life into the old furniture pieces. When repainting the furniture, ensure that the base coat is done correctly as any imperfections may start appearing once the paint is dried off. Sand the furniture properly to make it appear best. Old wooden furniture can be directly sanded off to add a natural, distressed appeal to the chosen pieces!
Reupholster
Replacing the old fabric is the quickest way to change the dull look of the worn furniture. Select the fabric upholstery of your choice and get the couch, chairs, and chosen seating reupholstered with a professional's help. Elevate the seating further with attractive accent cushions and throws!
Repurpose
Think creatively and repurpose the old furniture piece, only to form new unique pieces. It will help add a unique character to your space. For example, an old bookshelf can become a useful cabinet with a little design modification. An attractive tabletop or surface can be added to the coffee table or side table. Or an old wooden door of the cabinet or wardrobe be made useful by transforming it for the base of a decorative mirror or artwork!
Reshuffle
It may not always be possible to buy new furniture pieces or renovate the old ones. In such a scenario, you can simply shift or change the current placement of the furniture pieces and notice the exciting difference. For example, if you have always kept the couch next to the wall, then try rearranging it next to the window. Or shuffle the position of easy-to-move pieces like side tables, nightstands, cabinetry, poufs, ottomans, etc. to give your space a new feel!

Place it Outside
In case the old furniture appears beyond saving, you can still use it for your outdoor requirements. Just weatherproof the furniture pieces with paint or varnish and get them reupholstered with outdoor-friendly fabric. Old accent chairs, poufs, and ottomans make a thoughtful choice to make a quick seating solution in balconies, verandas, and porches!
