Easy Ways To Plant & Maintain Money Plant

Planting and maintaining money plant:
1. Prefer fertile soil if you are planting money plant outdoors. If you are growing indoors then provide a good-quality potting mix and a good drainage for money plants growing in containers. Add sand into the potting mix to improve drainage.
2. Water should be distilled or else rain water should be used to maintain the green leaves. This is because, distilled water doesn't have microorganisms which dry the leaves. Money plants require frequent watering. Keep the soil evenly moist. Mist the leaves with water once in a week. Keep the plant in a humid and warm room temperature. Reduce watering the money plant during the winter. Just see that the plant is not dry or else the leaves will start shedding.
3. Dilute water-soluble fertilizer by half and feed once every two weeks during the growing season. Discontinue fertilizing in the winter and resume again in the spring.
4. Money trees do not require a regular pruning. Remove the dry and dead leaves to shape the plant. Also the money plant needs maintaining because they spread across the wall if left without care. Remove brown or yellow leaves if desired. If you have a tree with a braided trunk, new growth may interfere with the braid s removing the problematic branches is good for the growth. Use sharp pruning tools to avoid damaging the plant.
5. If the leaves start becoming yellowish in color then stop watering. This changing color of the leaves is due to over-watering. Even brown tip on the leaves symbolizes over-watering.
6. It is best to grow money plant indoors. Excessive heat can damage the plant and make it dry in few days. If planting outdoors, keep it under a shade for its long life.
7. Spray insect spray to protect the money plant from insects and pest.
Money plant doesn't require too much maintaining and is a beautiful indoor plant.
