Indoor Gardening: Beautiful Terrariums

Your apartment may not accommodate a garden but plant terrariums can actually bring the green effect to the house. Pets like lizards and turtles can also be placed in these miniature landscapes. From bulbs to boxes to enclosures, anything in glass can be utilised for terrarium gardening. Here is how you can arrange the table top plants.
Terrarium Gardening: Indoor Gardening Tips
1. Selection Of Containers - For your terrarium, you need to find a jar or container that has a wide mouth. Not that the plants don't grow in small mouthed jars, it is just that the big jars can accommodate more plants, soil and will not stick to the surface.
Bigger jars look attractive and placing just one of them will make any corner green and fresh. Herbs can also be planted in terrariums and placed in kitchen or dining area. A small clay or ceramic toy house, glazed stones, marbles and shells can be used to decorate the jars.
2. Selecting Plants - According to the size of the jars, the plants can be selected. Growing ferns look attractive than cacti but the thorny plants are zero maintenance plants. Plants like Ivy, Moss, Pitcher plant, Asparagus and Cacti are all best suited indoor gardening plants.
3. Plant Compatibility – Not all plants can grown in the same jar. Analysing what type of plants suit your indoor garden and matching accordingly is what it takes. Ask your local gardener as which three plants can be potted in the same soil and do according to his suggestions (since the temperature and humid condition differ from place to place). Even jade plant or orchids (no soil plants) can be clubed in the same jar.
