Gardening Different Types Of Hibiscus

Types Of Hibiscus & Gardening Ideas
1. Chinese Hibiscus – The commonly available red hibiscus flower doesn't require a fertile soil but can thrive well on ground. The leaves are small and bushy. Requires watering everyday (on alternative days during rainy season). The plant can get diseased during winter so spraying neem water will kill bugs and insects
2. Hibiscus rosa-sinensis 'Cooperii Alba' – This crimson coloured Malvaceae member has deep green leaves. The leaves are also variegated in off white, pink and cream colours. This variety can grow on any soil. It doesn't ask for extra water and fertilizers. It can take care of its self independently.
3. The yellow Hibiscus variety has giant petals. The flower is light and tender. The flowers are Irish eyed and yellow submarine styled. Their average life is longer than the other hibiscus types. Although the flowers are huge, the plant is as small as a shrub, can be grown in containers. The stem can take support of the walls and the railings.
4. Hibiscus Moscheutos – This hibiscus type is commonly seen in the Malasian capital. The plant is delicate and growing it in the house garden is a little difficult, say the nursery experts. The flowers are too big (almost the size of kitchen plates). They are exhibited at the Kuala Lumpur Hibiscus Garden.
5. Hawaiian Hibiscus – The special type of hibiscus is said to grow easily with some care. The plant requires more water and fertilizers. One way to find if the plant is thriving well in your garden is by its bloom (the buds dry up even before the bloom if the plant isn't getting sufficient nutrition). Hawaiian hibiscus is also called Bunga Raya Hawaii.
