Apartment Garden 2: Top 5 Evergreen Plants

Evergreen plants are those plants which remain green all through the year. Even during autumn the leaves don't turn yellow or brown. These plants are good to grow as they not only make your house colourful and soothing but also can be good food alternatives.
Top 5 Evergreen Garden Plants For Apartment Garden
1. Red Vine Spinach – The iron rich spinach can be planted in pots. They thrive well in cold weather so cities like Bangalore are ideal place for the spinach plants. They can be placed in the corner and the plants can be supported on the wall of the balcony. Pruning leaves will help them grow bigger and better. The new green leaves will thus keep the apartment garden forever green.
2. Oregano – The healthy herb is also a good evergreen shrub. Growing oregano is more easier, just planting a cutting in pot and watering every alternative day is enough for its growth. The soil needs to be well drained, no need of unnecessary compost or fertilizer. All that you need to do is see to it that there are no weeds with the plant as they will gradually kill its growth.
3. Mint – The aromatic herb is a beautiful green. The plants are fast growing and need to pruning very often. A well drained soil, little fertilizer and water can keep them fresh and green. Just planting a cutting would be enough. The evergreen shrub makes your apartment garden look like a fern garden.
4. Curry Tree – These plants require big pots, just having them in a corner will itself fill the small space of your garden. The neem lookalike leaves are deep green in colour and always look fresh. Pruning is necessary and the plant spreads into the area (like a mini tree) making your small space garden appear like a bonsai garden.
5. Aloe Vera – Growing aloe vera is even easier as the evergreen plant is a cacti. It is ok if you don't water them for a few days. The ash green color leaves have a different arrangement. Although they are not flowering plants the leaf arrangement itself makes them look like gigantic flowers. They are good container gardening plants.
