Easy Design Ideas For Making Onam Pookalam
Easy Ways Of Making Pookalams – Onam Decor Ideas
1. Firstly, decide on the rangoli pattern you want for the pookalam. It is best to choose circular rangoli patterns as decorating with flowers look symmetrical.
2. Draw the rangoli with a piece of chalk or powder. Prefer bright flowers like marigold, chrysanths and roses. The petals of the flowers are used to fill the rangoli design.
3. Fill the flower petals in contrast so that the pookalam design look bright and colourful. It should look as if it is a carpet.
4. Fresh leaves can also be used with flowers as the green combination looks beautiful and natural. Sprinkling water on pookalams at regular intervals will keep the flower arrangement fresh.
5. At the centre of the pookalam, women light lamps and dance around. Lighting scented candles will keep the pookalam designs attractive even in the dark as well as spread the aroma on the festive day.
6. Sprinkling glitters and crystals (used in the fish bowls) can also be arranged between the flowers. This is one of the special onam decor ideas.
