1.Space - Old people should have enough space to walk around, so that they don't hurt themselves. A spacious room also gives them the feeling of freedom, which they at this age crave for. Place the furniture's spaciously, The bed should have enough free space around.
2.Flooring – Marble flooring is fine but the only problem is that it is slippery. They might fall out of disbalance. Thus cemented floor is preferred. To beautify the cemented floor use red cement. Red cement also adds color to the room but make sure the ceiling is white.
3. Colour – Colours is the identity of a room. For your grandparents, it is always advisable to ask their favourite colour but a light hue is generally preferred. A light hue, is relaxing, soothing to the eye and suits every season.
4.Furniture – There are few things which are unavoidable, like, a book rack. Grandparents generally love spending time reading. Thus, after education oneself about their favourite author, books etc, stack up the book shelf. The bed should be low, so that they don't have trouble climbing it. The chairs should not be too hefty. Light chairs are preferred and place them against the window. Oldies, love to take a pick on the outside world. Wooden tables are preferred than glass ones.
5.Worship Place – At old age, people take solace to God and thus a neat and clean worship place is needed. Make sure the place has everything needed and is aloof of the rest of the room. What is needed can only be told by them.
6.Curtains – The curtains to be used to shade the room, should be heavy. Oldies are very particular about their privacy. Thus, match the shade of the curtain with the color of the room and let them be of heavy material.
7.Accessories – Beautify their room with different accessories. Things like wind chime, china grass, laughing Buddha will make them happy as they both beautify and at the same time has vastu connection, which is of great interest to grandparents.
8.Balcony Garden – Make a small beautiful garden in their balcony. Plants have their own benefits but at the same time will keep them engaged. Beautiful blossoms and greenery will have a feel good effect on your grandparents.
