1.Use a bookshelf as a changing table, they have many drawers so it will be easy for you to keep all the baby's items in one place.

2.Your nursery should have a crib or a cradle for your new born. You baby's bedding should always be comfortable for the child.

4.When you buy a crib make sure that the crib with slats are not too far apart. This can be dangerous for the baby, as they can slip out easily.

5.The corner posts of the crib you buy should be in level with the railings. This will prevent your baby's clothes from getting caught in them.

6.To avoid your baby's limbs getting caught in the railing of the crib, place a blanket in the crib that fits perfectly.

7.Your baby will tend to chew anything that he or she finds in the crib. Make sure that you 'never' use lead based paints in the nursery as it is poisonous.

8.The changing tables and other furnitures where you place your baby to sit, make sure that they have straps to avoid your baby from falling.

9.The electrical switches in the baby's nursery should be out of reach for your child.

10.Have a routine check up of the room. Pay close attention to small objects that are thrown on the ground or elsewhere as they can be swallowed by your child. Avoid sharp edges as well.
