Creativity Blossomed Theme Bedrooms

By Staff

Have you ever imagined sleeping in a garden with the music of birds and enjoying the colours of flowers and butterflies? Sleeping under a rainbow, sleeping aside fairy tale characters... the thought seems interesting and amazing and impossible. But with a little touch of creativity and imagination you can make the above told fantasy a reality right in your bedrooms.

The new trend in bedroom decoration is 'theme bedrooms'. You can design a dreamy fantasy style bedroom, or a fairytale princess style baby bedroom. Leaving aside the traditional interior designing models, you can go for a theme bedroom where instead of the century old faded colours the fluttering fairies, sparkling castles and crowns, mythical unicorns, winged horses, sprinkling stars, colourful rainbows and the beauty of flowers and nature will come to your bedrooms.

There are themes unlimited to choose from. All that matter is your imagination and creativity to select one for each bedroom.

Retro bedrooms

Retro bedrooms are the old styled bedrooms in the decorating styles of the 1960's and 1970's. To decorate the bedroom in a retro style the first thing to be noted is that the colour of your room should match the theme. On your white or neutral wall colors, hang colorful bold flower print fabrics in two or three colours. Use bold colour blocked fabric for your bedding and window treatment.

Collect floor tiles in two colors and install like in a checkerboard pattern. Shag carpet would look great in your 70"s inspired bedroom. Mirrors and glass became the main room accessories during this period. Cover a wall with mirrors and add a mirrored disco ball to reflect the light in your room. Glass figurines and stuffed animals will make your theme bedroom perfect with the retro style.

Rainbow theme
As kids like colours and are happy to watch various colours all around them a rainbow theme bedroom may make them jovial. As the colours in a rainbow indicates, fill the walls with different colours. Use multi-coloured room curtains and wall hangings. A rainbow painted on one of the walls may make the decoration perfect. Hanging stars from the roof and painting the roof like the sky would add to the beauty of the bedroom.

A Greco-Roman theme

Greek mythology and Roman architecture are rich with themes and designs as it has inspired the world of art ever since the stories became popular. In the Greco-Roman style walls can be painted in a marble design. Another paint option for the walls is to use Venetian plaster. Hard surface floors, especially a tile pattern would be most true to the Roman or Greek style. When it comes to the bedding, stick to light colours in solid or simple abstract patterns. Thin stripes and textured fabrics work well.

Garden theme

Garden style bedrooms will give a fresh breath of cozy country cottage style to your bedroom. Garden theme will add a burst of springtime freshness to your bedrooms. For a quick and easy effect for the walls, decorate with Garden Wall Murals, ideal for creating natural themes. Drape a bright colored quilt and decorate the room in bright, happy shades of spring with Room Lanterns. A fun outdoor tree-house style bedroom, with cats and dogs, bugs, trees and critters may look wonderful in garden theme bedrooms. You can also dress your beds with vibrant floral bedding, fun garden style murals and accessories with sweet floral scented candles. Accent the room with a bed canopy, fresh flowers, silk plants, vines, leafy garlands. Get creative with birdhouses, window flower boxes, trellis and shutters.

Whatever be the theme chosen and whatever be the accessories used, what matters is your disposition and artistic skills to transform your bedroom to a stylish and peaceful place.
