9 Uncommon Things You Forget To Clean, Easy Checklist To Have A Spotless Home
Cleaning is mandatory to maintain a healthy and hygienic living space. While most people remember to clean the common areas like floors, countertops, and bathrooms, these less obvious places often get overlooked. But, ideally, these easily ignored things and places require thorough cleaning on a timely basis!
Here are uncommon places you might forget to clean but should be given priority to maintain your space.

Under the Furniture
Look under the couch, sofa, and bed and you will usually find dust bunnies rolling around that needs to be cleaned up with a dust mop or vacuum cleaner every week. With regular dusting, there won't be the build-up of spider webs or eggs. The other uncommon places you should be cleaning are table braces, chair or couch seats, and bed frames!
Ceiling Fans
Cleaning the ceiling fans sounds most common thing to do, but often gets a dusting during festive cleaning only. Dust and dirt can accumulate on the blades of ceiling fans, and when the fan is turned on, it can scatter these particles throughout the room. Regularly dust the blades and wipe them down with a damp cloth.
Light Fixtures
Light fixtures, including chandeliers, pendant lights, wall sconces, and table lamps can gather dust and dead insects over time. Turn off the power, remove the fixtures if necessary, and clean them thoroughly. Replace any dead bulbs.
Behind and Under Appliances
Pull out your home appliances like the refrigerator, stove, oven, dishwasher, washing machine, etc, and clean the space behind and underneath. Dust bunnies, grease, dust, and food crumbs, tend to accumulate in these areas.
Inside Electronics
Your remote controls, keyboards, and smartphones can harbor germs and dirt. Use a disinfectant wipe or a soft cotton swab to clean the buttons and crevices. This will ensure you have electronics that are safe to hold at all times.

Shower Curtain and Liner
Both the shower curtain and liner can develop mold and mildew pretty easily. Wash them in the washing machine or replace them every two weeks to keep your bathroom clean and fresh.
Door Handles and Light Switches
High-touch surfaces and objects like door handles, light switches, etc be a breeding ground for germs. Disinfect the door handles, especially in the bathroom and kitchen, and light switches to live in a germ-free environment.
Indoor Plants
Whether real or faux, the indoor plants in your home can accumulate dust pretty easily. Ensure to wipe the leaves with a soft microfiber cloth or use a disposable duster to keep the plants dust-free. Also, ensure to clean the surfaces of the planters and the water dish underneath!
Trash Cans
Trash cans are utilized to put the dirt or trash but these super functional objects remain dirty for no obvious reasons. People often forget to clean the trash cans themselves. Both indoor and outdoor trash cans can become dirty and smelly pretty quickly. Empty and clean them regularly or at least every week with soapy water and disinfectant.
Know that cleaning these uncommon places will help maintain a cleaner and healthier living environment. What's more? It will also contribute to the overall cleanliness and aesthetics of your home.
