Gather the Cleaning Supplies
Before you begin the cleaning process, ensure you have all the necessary supplies. This typically should include a bucket, mild dish soap or cleaning liquid, a sponge, microfiber or lint-free cloth, and a gentle glass cleaner. Keep these cleaning supplies in one place to streamline the cleaning process.
Dust and Vacuum the Windows First
Commence the window cleaning task by removing loose dirt and dust from the windows and grilles. Use a soft broom or a vacuum cleaner with a nozzle attachment to gently remove debris from corners and crevices. This initial step prevents the accumulation of excess dirt during the cleaning process.
Prepare a Cleaning Solution
Mix a cleaning solution with some warm water and a small amount of mild dish soap. This gentle solution is effective in removing dirt and grime and does not cause damage to the glass or grilles. Avoid using harsh chemicals that may rust or discolour the materials.
Clean the Grilles
If your windows have grilles, it's advisable to clean them first. Dip a soft brush or sponge into the soapy water and gently scrub the grilles, paying attention to the corners and edges. For hard-to-reach areas, you can use a toothbrush or a cotton swab. Wipe away excess water with a microfiber cloth.

Pay Attention to Glass Surfaces
Once the grilles are clean, move on to the glass surfaces. Dip a sponge into the soapy water and start from the top, pull it down in a straight, creating vertical motion. Repeat the step until the entire surface is covered. For smaller windows, use a lint-free cloth for a streak-free finish.
Address Stubborn Stains
For stubborn stains like water spots or bird droppings, prepare a paste of baking soda and water. Apply the solution to the stained areas and allow it to sit for a few minutes. Now, scrub the stains with a soft brush or sponge. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and dry with a soft cloth.
Utilize Vinegar for Extra Shine
To add extra shine to the glass windows, mix equal parts water and white vinegar. Apply this solution to the glass surfaces and grilles using a spray bottle. Wipe with a clean, dry cloth or squeegee to get a streak-free finish.
Protect and Maintain the Windows
For extending the cleanliness of the windows, consider adding a protective coating. There are commercial glass sealants available that can protect the windows from water and reduce the build-up of dirt. Schedule regular cleaning sessions to prevent the accumulation of dust and grime and make the cleaning process more effective and manageable.
