Aroma Therapy in Feng Shui

By Super Admin

Why does a sweet smell or fragrance make us feel nice and what is so romantic about a candle light dinner?

The underlying principle of Feng Shui is that we are intimately connected to and affected by our environments on an energetic level. Often we focus primarily on improving the visible aspects of our home: changing colors, arranging furniture to create more attractive and welcoming rooms, selecting appropriate imagery for our walls.

It's important to remember that Feng Shui involves all the senses. Bad smells of any kind are a form of sha chi (negative energy), and should be corrected immediately--whether that's a simple task like taking out the trash more frequently or as extensive an effort as tearing out and replacing the funky old carpeting throughout your home. The emotional impact of aromas can be very powerful.

Before electricity, candles were an essential staple in every home. Now they have become an affordable luxury and one that can be adapted or used for any occasion or purpose. Naturally, aside from power outages, one of their most frequent uses is for mood enhancement, especially on romantic occasions. It takes little thought or times to place a few candles randomly around a room. And generally, this is enough to suffice. But the key to feeling of coziness and romance is in the details that act upon the subconscious, subtly influencing feelings and choices, which should always include candles.

Candles can be widely used in Feng Shui applications even just to enhance the feel of a place. The colors of the candles have a great significance. One could just place candles of red and yellow which are harbingers of prosperity and happiness. When we place them at Southwest or northeast, they form an awesome combination of Fire and earth energy if the candles are aroma based they not only add to the enhancement of the sector but do create a positive feel in the persons mind strengthening his affirmation. These combinations in multiples of three when allowed to float in water contained in a metal container with some fresh flowers strewn are excellent enhancers and not just create a visual delight but bring together the supportive elements in one place. Placing such a set up close to the entry of a home brings in positive chi and creates an atmosphere of serenity.

Those seeking suitable partners or strengthen on going relationships, Placing a pair of bright red aroma candles at the Southwest corner would ensure excellent relationship and romance luck. One could even light it for a while in the evening to "jump start" and re-connect relationships. For broken hearts a pink and a white candle burnt together simultaneously and allowed to fuse is a sign of patching up.

Candles are used quite extensively in Feng Shui rituals. To strengthen relationship between married couples, the Chinese generally burn three red candles every night for a fortnight after the Chinese Lunar New Year, which is said to symbolize excellent relationship luck throughout the year.

Candles are used even to enhance wealth luck and prosperity. Placing purple aroma candles at the South east corner symbolizes strengthening wealth luck. And Blue candles placed in North jazz up career luck. The candles need not be lit but the effect of the color and the fragrance at the right sector imbues the relevant aspiration.

To strengthen relationship and bring in closeness, you might try placing candles on the dining table or on a side table next to your bed. After a stressful day lighting up aroma candle close to the bedside transforms the inner energy of the occupants and the Feng Shui of the bedroom too.
