1. Garlic:

Chew on raw garlic on an empty stomach in order to get rid of cold and also strengthen your resistance system.

2. Honey:
Honey may be of great help in soothing a sore throat as well as shortening the life span of a cold. The high number of nutrients and enzymes in honey aid kill microorganisms and viruses that cause colds. You can just swallow a spoonful of raw honey to provide a soothing effect to your troubled throat.

3. Spice Tea:
Spice tea is an incredibly valuable Ayurvedic remedy for getting rid of common cold. Dry roast and grind one-fourth cup of cilantro seeds, one and a half tablespoons each of cumin along with fennel seeds, along with a quarter teaspoon of fenugreek seeds. Drink this spice tea daily till the symptoms subside.

4. Ginger:
Ginger may be useful in managing common cold and its signs because of its anti-viral, expectorant and anti-inflammatory properties. Eat raw ginger or drink ginger tea many times each day. For a runny nose, mix one teaspoonful each of dry ginger powder, clarified butter and jaggery, a natural sweetener and have it twice a day.
