Here Are The Causes & Symptoms Of Adenomyosis, Which You Need To Be Aware Of
Here are the causes of adenomyosis that you need to be aware of. Also, read to know the symptoms of adenomyosis.
Adenomyosis is a condition in which the inner lining of the uterus breaks through the muscle wall of the uterus.
This condition can cause menstrual cramps, lowered abdominal pressure and bloating before periods. This can also result in heavy periods.
Adenomyosis can be located throughout the entire uterus or localized at one spot. This condition is usually not life-threatening, but the associated pain and bleeding can affect a woman's life big time.

It is often diagnosed in middle-aged women and women who have had children. Certain studies have also suggested that women who have had a prior uterine surgery may be at a higher risk of adenomyosis.
To make matters easier for your convenience, we have listed the main causes of adenomyosis as well as the common symptoms of this condition.
Causes Of Adenomyosis:

1. Invasive Tissue Growth:
Uterine incisions made during an operation - like a C-section may promote the direct invasion of the endometrial cells into the wall of the uterus. This can lead to adenomyosis.

2. Developmental Origins:
Adenomyosis also originates within the uterine muscle from the endometrial tissue, which is deposited there, when the uterus is first formed in the foetus.

3. Uterine Inflammation Related To Child Birth:
This is also one of the reasons for adenomyosis. An inflammation of the uterine lining during the postpartum period might cause a normal break in the normal boundary of cells that line the uterus. This is one of the top causes of adenomyosis.

4. Stem Cells Origin:
A recent theory has proposed that the bone marrow stem cells may invade the uterine muscle, causing adenomyosis.

Symptoms Of Adenomyosis:
a. Menstrual Bleeding:
If your menstrual bleeding is prolonged and heavy, then this could be a symptom of adenomyosis.

b. Severe Cramps:
Severe cramps or sharp knife-like pelvic pain during menstruation is a sign of adenomyosis.

c. Long-lasting Cramps:
If the menstrual cramps last throughout your periods and worsen as you get older, it's high time you got checked for adenomyosis. This is one of the main symptoms of adenomyosis.

d. Pain During An Intercourse:
Pain while having an intercourse is a very common symptom of adenomyosis.

e. Blood Clots:
Blood clots that pass through during your periods is a sign of adenomyosis. Excess blood clotting during the menstrual cycle can indicate adenomyosis and hence must be checked at the earliest.
