What is the first food you remember, with the name summer? Isn't it fruits? Well, it has to be, Summer fruits are the most tastiest treat ever and also the sole respite from the scorching heat. Out of all the seasons, we loose most nutrients during summer due to exhaustion, dehydration etc. Fruits of this season have excessive water content which helps the body maintain the nutrient balance. Here are some summer fruits and there health benefits -

1.Mango – The king of fruits, Mango, is a summer special fruits and are available in varieties. Mango I a natural source of several nutrients like Vitamin A, C, K and B. Raw mango contains starch and as the mango ripens the starch converts into sugar and thus, is a good agent to weight gain for those who are thin or suffer weight fluctuation. This fruit health benefits also includes enhancing the body's immune system, strength and stamina. Mango is a rich source of garlic acid, which improved the bowel system and thus cleanses the body. It is also has blood purification benefits.

2.Berries – Summer is the season of berries, blue berries, strawberries, blackberries etc. Berries have phytochemicals which boost immunity, prevents cancer, keeps the heart healthy. Berries have the ability to promote healthy skin and has great ability to heal urinary tract infection.

3.Watermelon – Watermelon, the most delicious fruit of summer and a treat to taste buds after a long hot day, is the best source to keep the body hydrated. Watermelon is a rich source of Vitamin A, C and B6. It also has high concentration of potassium which prevents heart risks and also keeps blood pressure under control. This fruit is an antioxidant which lowers cancer risks, boost immune system and enhances the metabolism rate of the body.

4.Apricot – Apricot, is yet another summer fruit with great health benefits. Apricot, the rich source of minerals, vitamins and good calories, is a great source of detoxifying the body. It is believed to be a home remedy for several seasonal sickness like fever, cough and cold etc. This fruit health benefit also includes cleansing the blood and increasing the haemoglobin level.
