Often appearance can speak a lot about a person, but have you ever thought that even your looks can give one a telling glimpse of your health. Yes and now scientists suggest that physical traits can give us clues on one's health.

According to a joined study conducted by American and German researchers, it was found that tall men, above six feet were 40 percent more likely to get an aggressive form of prostate cancer than men of average 5.7" height.

This study complements with the report published in the Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers & Prevention last year, which had stated that men"s cancer risk increased by 6 percent for every additional 3.9-inch increase in height over the average, and that having longer legs increased the odds from 12 to 23 percent.

While this certainly does not mean that its only men, who are at risk, as even tall women, who are 5.9 or taller also are at the risk of developing breast cancer. Other body traits such as hair colour, dark skin, longer fingers are some features, that can tell about your health.

A study published in the Journal of the American Dental Association says that natural redheads felt more pain during any dental procedure, as they carry a gene mutation that may affect their brain's ability to process pain-blocking medicines such as Novocain.

And whose of with a darker skin tend to develop chronic smoking habit that eventually can lead to cancer. Research has found that the bonding between nicotine and melanin is high, and thus the dark-skinned one's develop higher dependence to nicotine.
